Our meeting dates for August 2026 are Mondays – 10th, 17th & 24th (Annual General Meeting) all at 7:30pm.
No meeting bank holiday 31st August.
September 2026 meetings each Monday at 7:30pm
Who is this club for?
All are welcome young and old, male or female, we play chess sociably and are happy to chat over the board. We do not instruct but are happy to guide and help you develop your game.
We have separate tables for those who wish to concentrate and focus on longer games. We do expect all players to have a basic level of understanding of the game. If you are an absolute beginner then Chess.com is an ideal learning site before coming to our club.
Many of us played at school and in our mid or later years have returned to the game. It is an excellent mental work out in a stress free environment. We do play tournaments, internal and external for added variety.
Do introduce yourself as a potential new member and try us out to see if you like the format.
Under 18s do need a parent or guardian to accompany them.
We meet at the Vine Baptist Church, Park Lane, Sevenoaks, TN13 3UP.
The entrance is via the side door next to the car park. New or potential members just turn up and introduce yourself. Guaranteed warm welcome!
Our club member’s annual competition is proving popular with 2 tables each week being used for matches.
